Overview

In this role you provide senior statistical leadership for EMBRACE’s digital trials, guiding design, analysis and reporting of observational and interventional studies. You will advance AI-enabled clinical research with decentralised and remote trial methods and analyse complex longitudinal and multimodal data, including wearable and app-generated data. You’ll collaborate across clinical, data science, epidemiology and technology teams to shape protocols, SAPs, submissions and methodological advances. This is a high-impact, mission-driven position at a leading research collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior statistical expertise for the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of observational and interventional studies within the EMBRACE programme
  • Contribute to protocol development, statistical analysis plans and regulatory submissions
  • Lead methodological development for innovative digital and AI-enabled clinical research
  • Analyse complex longitudinal and multimodal datasets, including wearable and app-generated data
  • Collaborate with clinicians, data scientists, epidemiologists and technologists across the programme
  • Support quality governance in line with GCP and regulatory considerations
  • Mentor junior staff, supervise students/postdocs, and manage statistical workstreams
  • Publish findings and contribute to the programme’s scientific impact

Key requirements

  • PhD in statistics/biostatistics/epidemiology/health data science or closely related discipline
  • Significant experience leading statistical analysis for clinical or population health research
  • Experience with complex health datasets (longitudinal/high-dimensional) and software (R, Stata, SAS, Python)
  • Strong organisational and strategic planning skills
  • Applied knowledge of GCP and regulatory aspects of clinical research
  • Ability to communicate complex statistics to multidisciplinary teams
  • Good publication record and experience securing external funding
  • Experience mentoring staff and leading statistical workstreams
  • Desirable: experience with digital/decentralised/remote trials and real-world data
