Overview

As an Associate in Houlihan Lokey’s Primary Capital Advisory team in London, you will support primary fundraising mandates and manage core project workstreams. You will develop financial models, perform market research, and prepare marketing materials to enable successful fundraises. You’ll mentor Analysts, coordinate due diligence, and help drive client dialogue with senior stakeholders. This role blends execution, analysis, and business development in a collegial, entrepreneurial environment with a focus on private capital advisory.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead core project workstreams for fundraising mandates
  • Prepare marketing materials (PPMs, DDQs, investor presentations) and manage investor outreach
  • Oversee data rooms and mentor Analysts
  • Develop bespoke financial models for fund performance and investor returns
  • Conduct market research, benchmarking, and investor mapping to support fundraising strategy
  • Assist in client dialogue and relationship management
  • Support origination efforts and marketing initiatives
  • Contribute to thought leadership and awareness of private market trends

Key requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience in private capital advisory, placement agent, or related roles in investment banking or asset management
  • Strong academic background (2:1 or equivalent degree minimum)
  • Proven ability to execute fundraising processes and manage investor interactions
  • Strong analytical skills in private markets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple workstreams under pressure
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive work ethic
  • Familiarity with private equity, private credit, and alternative investment strategies
  • Understanding of LP dynamics and fundraising best practices
