Overview

As a Material Buyer in Amazon’s EU IT Materials Management team, you will manage procurement, supplier readiness, and product roadmaps for IT equipment. You’ll collaborate with PMO, RAD, and SC Planning to ensure timely material availability and risk mitigation. You will drive data-driven purchasing processes, supplier communications, and lifecycle management to support site launches and operational readiness. This role offers impact by shaping supplier relationships, data hygiene, and cost efficiency within a fast-moving, customer-centric environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders in DSCS
  • Oversee purchasing from PR issuance to material receipt and payment support
  • Develop metrics for open orders, risk mitigation, and process efficiency
  • Communicate forecasts to suppliers for sustaining and new products
  • Serve as supply chain SME for IT equipment categories, managing procurement, readiness, and risk
  • Collaborate with product management to develop supplier product roadmaps and data hygiene
  • Engage with suppliers on inventory readiness, component changes, and reporting
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support site launches and handle operational challenges
  • Audit ordering, receiving, invoicing, and accounts payable for 100% accuracy
  • Develop KPIs for invoicing, on-time delivery, and unreserved orders to improve vendor performance
  • Perform spend analysis and present business cases for cost savings and efficiency
  • Work with Demand Planning to build purchasing plans and inform inventory decisions
  • Drive continuous supply chain improvements through root-cause analysis of failures
  • Perform data cleansing and validation to maintain data quality in systems
  • Collaborate with AI initiatives to automate repetitive tasks

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Intermediate Excel (pivot tables, charts, lookups, nested IFs, data cleansing)
  • Procurement/purchasing analyst or equivalent experience
  • Experience in supply chain
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups
