Senior Chemist

Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting a specialist organisation within the lubricants and specialty chemicals sector with the appointment of a Senior R&D Chemist.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced lubricants chemist or formulation specialist who is ready to step into a role with greater technical influence and less day-to-day laboratory work.

This is not a predominantly hands-on laboratory role. It’s an opportunity to use your technical expertise in a broader, more senior capacity, supporting projects, solving technical challenges and influencing product development.

The role:

• Provide senior technical support across R&D and product development
• Support formulation development, optimisation and technical problem solving
• Review and interpret laboratory and performance data
• Provide technical guidance and support to laboratory-based activity
• Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams
• Support projects from development through to commercialisation

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience within the lubricants industry
• Background in R&D, formulation, product development or technical development
• Good knowledge of lubricant formulations, base oils and additives
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to provide technical guidance
• Relevant Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or scientific qualification
