The Opportunity

n

n

Clarkson Owens Recruitment is working with an established construction contractor who is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a residential development at Corstorphine, Edinburgh.

n

n

The project comprises the development of 11 new residential apartments, incorporating the retained frontage of a former building together with a new three-storey extension.

n

n

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of a high-quality residential project and manage the development through construction to successful completion and handover.

n

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n

The Site Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, including:

n

n
• Managing all site activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

n

• Coordination and management of subcontractors and trades.

n

• Programming and sequencing works to maintain project milestones.

n

• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and site organisation.

n

• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring defects are identified and resolved.

n

• Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics within a constrained urban site.

n

• Working closely with the Contracts/Project Management team, consultants and subcontractors.

n

• Monitoring progress against programme and reporting on any potential delays.

n

• Ensuring drawings, specifications and construction information are correctly implemented.

n

• Managing the project through commissioning, snagging and final handover.

n

The Candidate

n

n

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in residential construction.

n

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
• Previous Site Management experience within residential construction.

n

• Experience delivering flatted or multi-unit residential developments.

n

• Strong subcontractor management skills.

n

• Excellent understanding of construction programmes and sequencing.

n

• A strong approach to health & safety and quality management.

n

• Good communication and organisational skills.

n

• The ability to take ownership of a project and drive it through to completion.

n

• SMSTS, First Aid and relevant CSCS qualifications.

n

n

n

Experience working on projects involving existing buildings, retained façades or restricted city sites would be particularly advantageous.

n
