Are you an experienced Health & Social Care curriculum leader looking for an interim management opportunity within an FE college?

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Department – Health & Social Care to provide leadership and management across the curriculum area.

The Role

As Head of Department, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the Health & Social Care department, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and learner outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing Health & Social Care teaching staff
  • Overseeing curriculum delivery, planning and quality
  • Monitoring learner attendance, progress, achievement and retention
  • Supporting and managing staff performance and development
  • Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Monitoring curriculum KPIs and contributing to improvement planning
  • Working closely with senior leaders and other curriculum areas
  • Managing day-to-day operational issues within the department
  • Driving continuous improvement and maintaining high expectations for learners and staff

About You

We’re looking for an experienced FE Health & Social Care professional with previous curriculum or departmental leadership experience.

You could be currently working as a:

  • Head of Department
  • Curriculum Manager
  • Curriculum Area Manager
  • Programme Manager
  • Head of Faculty

You should have strong knowledge of Health & Social Care within Further Education, alongside the leadership skills and confidence to take ownership of a curriculum area and manage a team.
