Senior Systems Administrator – Network Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing firm in East London , is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage and maintain its critical network infrastructure and server environment. This role is essential for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the company’s IT systems, supporting seamless operations across the organization. You will be responsible for system provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned IT professional to contribute to the operational backbone of a key industry player in East London .

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implement and maintain system security measures, including patching, antivirus, and access control.
• Perform regular system backups and develop disaster recovery plans.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively resolve them.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions).
• Proficiency in network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
