Overview
In this role you will join a growing Treasury Tax team within KPMG’s Tax & Legal practice to provide technically robust, commercially grounded advice on complex financing and structuring matters. You will work closely with Corporate Tax and other specialists to deliver high-quality Treasury Tax input across deals, restructurings and advisory work. The role offers flexible location with regular client and office visits, and opportunities to shape the Treasury Tax capability. You will drive practical solutions, support cross-functional teams, and mentor colleagues in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide robust technical advice on UK loan relationships and derivative contracts regimes including Disregard Regulations and related areas like Corporate Interest Restriction, Anti-hybrids, Distributions and Withholding Tax
- Contribute to high-profile projects (M&A, deals work, debt restructuring, refinancing) and support audit engagements, tax authority enquiries, and complex compliance and advisory matters
- Apply tax, legal, accounting and commercial knowledge to navigate complex financing arrangements and deliver practical, robust solutions
- Develop strong client and stakeholder relationships, acting as a credible adviser across Treasury Tax matters
- Support the development of Treasury Tax capability by sharing knowledge, preparing technical materials and training colleagues
- Manage workstreams and coordinate input from specialists to ensure high technical quality and clear, commercial delivery
- Identify client issues and opportunities for Treasury Tax input, helping shape practical responses for Partners and Directors
- Collaborate with Corporate Tax teams and other specialists to deliver integrated, cross-functional advice
Key requirements
- ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
- Significant corporate tax experience with direct Treasury Tax exposure preferred
- Strong technical expertise in UK loan relationships and derivative contracts regimes (Disregard Regulations, Corporate Interest Restriction, Anti-hybrids, Distributions, Withholding Tax)
- Excellent technical judgement to analyse legislation, case law and guidance and provide practical advice
- Ability to work effectively with clients, service teams and internal stakeholders
- Strong project delivery skills and the ability to manage complex workstreams while maintaining technical quality
- Collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge and contribute to broader capability
