Overview
As Principal Landscape Planner at AECOM, you lead landscape planning on regional and global projects, shaping regeneration, energy transition, and infrastructure schemes. You will work within the UK&I Landscape Architecture team to influence design from early stages and deliver environmental and social benefits, contributing to net-zero goals. You’ll mentor peers, foster collaboration across disciplines, and drive innovative, cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and analyses using innovative methods to inform outcomes
- Produce and oversee reports, drawings and technical docs for development, assessment and design stages
- Engage with clients, nurture relationships, and respond to their requirements
- Lead on meetings, conference calls and workshops with clear, effective communication
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to develop the team and maintain technical excellence
- Collaborate iteratively with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance project delivery
- Take project management responsibilities including financial and programme management
- Adhere to AECOM procedures and apply them to projects
Key requirements
- Proficient in preparing LVIAs and TVIAs and evidence-base documents per best practice
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system as it relates to landscape architecture
- Experience in project management with budget control and reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Competent in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud (preferred)
- Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS or ProjectWise (useful)
