Technical Manager – London – Residential Developer

Overview

In this role you will lead the technical and design activities for multiple new build residential projects from inception to completion. You will oversee the technical and design team from the London office and coordinate closely with architectural, commercial, and production teams. You will drive the working drawings delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage critical path programmes. Responsibilities

• Oversee full working drawings packages for residential schemes
• Coordinate with architectural team to ensure timely delivery of packages
• Liaise with commercial and production teams throughout development
• Manage and mentor the technical and design team during project stages
• Identify and interrogate design information across disciplines
• Monitor project programmes and critical paths
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, and sustainability targets
• Communicate effectively with all disciplines and stakeholders

Key requirements

• 7+ years of residential developer experience on multiple new build developments
• Strong knowledge of development/technical design processes
• Proven experience in detailed design for residential schemes (RC frame and timber frame)
• Ability to challenge and verify design information across disciplines
• Architectural background; AutoCAD beneficial
• Solid understanding of Building Regs, NHBC Standards, and sustainability considerations
• Ability to interpret and negotiate compliance across projects
• Degree or relevant professional qualification
• Effective communication across all levels; well-organised and able to manage people, processes, and time
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
