Overview

In this role you drive product definition and lifecycle for McLaren’s vehicle programmes, shaping strategy, features, and go-to-market plans. You will act as the voice of the customer, aligning cross-functional teams to maximise value across customer, brand, and finance. You’ll manage trade-offs between performance, cost, and compliance while crafting compelling product proposals for senior leadership. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate market studies and research to inform positioning
  • Translate positioning into USPs and Why-Buys
  • Lead product lifecycle management and attribute/content positioning
  • Develop price and business case inputs for trims, options & accessories
  • Create customer-facing messaging and marketing assets with the Marketing team
  • Develop product guides and technical data for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support go-to-market activities and sales training materials
  • Represent McLaren at press and marketing events
  • Drive change control and governance of product direction documents
  • Refine the business case with Strategy, Engineering and Finance teams
  • Monitor vehicle sales performance to optimise lifecycle and profitability

Key requirements

  • Deep automotive industry knowledge including customer, competition, trends, technologies, legislation, and pricing
  • Ability to balance competing requirements (customer, financial, technical, regulatory) for maximum business value
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration across the business
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in product, strategy, design, engineering or marketing within an automotive OEM context
  • Pan-European or global experience is desirable
  • Experience with new mobility, electrification and circular economy concepts is advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen and data-driven decision making
  • Knowledge of market trends analysis, segmentation and pricing
  • Ability to define and execute formal product development processes
