Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will oversee commercial performance across multiple residential developments, from procurement through to completion. You will work closely with site and construction teams to control costs, manage variations, and identify savings. The position sits in a fast-moving housebuilder’s commercial team in Nottingham, offering a permanent opportunity with the potential for meaningful impact on project profitability and cash flow. You’ll contribute to efficient procurement, robust reporting, and proactive commercial advice. Responsibilities

• Manage commercial performance across multiple developments
• Control build costs, budgets and cash flow
• Manage variations and cost movements
• Procure and manage subcontract packages
• Review valuations and commercial reporting
• Collaborate with Site and Construction teams
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage overruns
• Monitor subcontractor performance
• Provide commercial advice throughout development

Key requirements

• Strong QS experience in residential housebuilding
• Good knowledge of construction contracts and procurement
• Experience managing multiple developments
• Strong understanding of residential build costs
• Good Excel and commercial systems knowledge
