Overview

As Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Accounting Advisory for Insurance, you will lead expert accounting guidance across General Insurance, Life & Pensions, and related markets. You’ll shape complex reporting and controls, advise on IFRS/UK GAAP, and drive finance transformation for large clients. You collaborate with actuarial, tax, risk, and regulatory teams to deliver integrated solutions and support major transformation programs. This role offers visibility with senior stakeholders and a path to thought leadership within a growing Insurance practice. You’ll help clients improve reporting quality, efficiency, and transparency while scaling the firm’s advisory impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and interpretation of new accounting standards and challenge complex transactions
• Act as the lead SME for audit teams on complex accounting judgements
• Coordinate with Deloitte teams (actuarial, tax, risk, regulatory) for joined-up input
• Lead Insurance transformation projects for global clients, delivering robust financial advice
• Build relationships with senior client stakeholders as trusted advisors on accounting and reporting
• Monitor market trends to establish Deloitte as a thought leader
• Manage and develop diverse teams in an inclusive culture
• Support business growth through knowledge sharing, team development, and identifying opportunities

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant with experience leading accounting teams in professional services or front-office within insurance, or leading large listed IFRS/UK GAAP audits
• Extensive experience in leading complex technical accounting advisory engagements (IFRS 17)
• Significant experience in finance transformation within insurance (General Insurance, Life & Pensions, Insurance Broker, London Markets)
• Strong understanding of technology, AI and automation in finance transformation and accounting
• Excellent communicator with stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to mentor junior team members (in-person and remote)
• Strong people management and development skills; ability to grow and maintain internal/external networks
