Overview
In this fixed-term Engagement Worker role, you’ll support at-risk young people through tailored, practical and emotional help within the Targeted Support Team. You will build trust, assess needs, and coordinate multi-agency support to improve education, training or employment outcomes. You’ll work closely with families, schools and partners to safeguard and empower young people, with a focus on inclusion and positive futures. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape young people’s outcomes within a values-driven charity.
Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Assess needs and develop tailored support plans
- Act as Lead Professional and coordinate multi-agency support
- Deliver one-to-one interventions
- Support young people into education, training, employment and positive activities
- Collaborate with families, schools and partner agencies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and early help processes
Key requirements
- Experience working directly with young people
- Experience supporting young people into education, training or employment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to assess needs, write plans and manage a varied caseload
- Commitment to inclusion, equality and enabling young people’s voices to be heard
- Level 3 qualification in Youth Work, Information Advice and Guidance, or equivalent experience essential
