CNC Turner/Programmer

Perm, starting from £16p/hr DOE, 40hrs per week, Mon to Fri,

BARNSLEY

I am looking for an experienced CNC Turner/Programmer, to work for one my clients, an Innovative and Exciting Engineering company based in Barnsley.

You must be a fully skilled engineer and experienced programmer, setter and operator. The component batches you are machining will vary but are predominantly on the smaller side so this role will include a lot of on the machine programming/setting.

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Programming, setting and operating Haas CNC Y-axis lathe with live tooling
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Carrying out dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measuring equipment
  • Deburring and finishing of components
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workplace

To be successful, you must be Apprentice trained or a time served engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience. Other keys skills required:

  • Fully conversant using Fanuc controlled CNC Lathes
  • Must be able to program, set and operate CNC machinery independently
  • Milling knowledge is beneficial
  • Be fully competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Responsible for quality and conformity to the drawings/3D CAD models
  • Possess an enthusiasm to produce the best possible quality
  • Experience working with tight tolerances and deadlines
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working hours as overtime may be required
  • Experience of working to own initiative.
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills

You will be required to work 40hrs per week, 8am to 5pm from Mon to Fri with a starting Pay Rate of £16p/hr +, Depending on Experience. Most holidays are set for the company shut down and include the first week of May, 2 weeks in August, a week at Xmas and Bank Holidays. The role is advertised as Permanent from day 1.
