Project Safety Manager

Overview

In this role you ensure health and safety compliance across housing capital programmes, planned works, repairs and maintenance. You will manage health and safety on construction projects and work closely with housing professionals to uphold safety standards. You lead and motivate the team while overseeing quality assurance and budget management on public sector projects. This position offers the opportunity to shape safety practices within housing initiatives and drive measurable safety improvements. You will be central to fulfilling the council’s safety obligations and delivering safe, compliant housing works.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety compliance across capital programmes, planned works, repairs and maintenance
• Manage health and safety on construction projects
• Lead, motivate and communicate effectively with team members
• Oversee quality assurance and budget management on public sector projects

Key requirements

• Sound knowledge of the construction industry and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) and wider health and safety requirements
• Level 4 qualification and current health and safety qualifications, including NEBOSH and SMSTS
• Ability to coach and develop colleagues within the team
