Overview

As a Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer, you lead technically across a diverse project portfolio, delivering safe and sustainable geotechnical design solutions. You operate within a collaborative consultancy that spans infrastructure, residential, commercial, healthcare, education and regeneration sectors. You will drive ground investigations, assessments and technical reporting while mentoring engineers and nurturing client relationships. You’ll contribute to bids and business development to support growth. This role offers a clear path to chartership and a chance to shape multi-disciplinary projects in a London-based, hybrid-working environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across a varied project portfolio
• Manage geotechnical design and risk on projects
• Contribute to ground investigations, assessments and reports
• Support project delivery and client-facing activities
• Mentor engineers and develop client relationships
• Contribute to bids and business development initiatives

Key requirements

• Relevant degree
• Significant consultancy experience
• Strong geotechnical design and analysis skills
• Chartered status with ICE, Geological Society or equivalent preferred
• Experience with PLAXIS, GeoStudio, WALLAP or Oasys advantageous
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
• Live in or near London to support office/site requirements
