In this role you will drive the design and development of low-pressure fuel systems for Caterpillar’s next-generation engines, collaborating with a global team to deliver production-ready solutions that meet performance, quality, and reliability targets. You’ll shape projects from concept to production, balancing technical risk with schedule and cost. The position offers hands-on testing, cross-functional reviews, and opportunities to influence sustainable engine technology within a world-class development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead specification and development of new low-pressure fuel system components (fuel filters, priming pumps, fuel coolers, transfer lines) to meet NPI requirements.
  • Collaborate with fuel system and filtration suppliers to define performance requirements and co-develop solutions.
  • Plan and deliver development projects to time, cost, and quality targets.
  • Assess technical risk via FMEA; coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R).
  • Investigate and resolve complex system issues using 8D methodology.
  • Lead cross-functional design reviews with manufacturing, quality, and purchasing to ensure production-worthy designs.
  • Assess fuel system performance through engine/testing at bench or rig levels.
