Region: London
Salary / Fee: From £48,246 to £58,318 2 days a week pro-rata for a fixed term 18 months
Job Type: Part-time 2 days per week pro-rata for a fixed term 18 months
Are you a strong project manager with a passion for providing access to heritage? Do you have experience working in the public engagement or cultural sector? If so, you could be the Project Manager for our new Hidden Stories Project and be part of Imperial’s dynamic Public Engagement Team.
Hidden Stories project is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and aims to decolonise aspects of heritage from the Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations in 1851 (the Great Exhibition) with a view to marking its 180th anniversary in 2031. To save this heritage, the project seeks to research, find, capture and share hidden stories from global majority groups linked to this landmark event. These anniversaries provide an opportunity to facilitate reflection and dialogue around the colonial profile of this landmark event. As well as engaging local community audiences, the project will involve around 15 iconic cultural institutions from the South Kensington Cultural District.
The role will join Imperial’s professional and energetic Public and Community Engagement Team who lead activities across several different areas. This includes a portfolio of public engagement programmes for a range of external audiences, such as the large-scale Great Exhibition Road Festival. It also includes the Capacity Building and Evaluation Team who support Imperial staff and students to deliver inclusive and accessible engagement activities to embed and the best practice across Imperial, and the Community Engagement Team at White City, who have been building strong local relationships with the surrounding community for several years. This role will ensure a collaborative and complimentary approach is sustained across the various Public and Community Engagement Teams in relation to this project.
This crucial role will provide project management support by coordinating the four project work streams, the evaluation and reporting requirements, stakeholder communications, and acting as key liaison with the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
