Overview

In this role you will design, build, and maintain a high-performance Linux-based trading and research infrastructure for a top-tier hedge fund. You will collaborate with development and research teams to solve data-intensive problems on large databases, delivering production-ready environments and operational excellence. Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth operation and stability of research, development, and trading infrastructure
  • Deliver production-ready handovers for projects and deployments
  • Design, build and implement new environments
  • Troubleshoot and tune Linux systems to meet business needs
  • Work with virtualization (KVM, VirtualBox) and Red Hat Linux
  • Leverage build/deploy tools (Maven, CMake, Rake) for deployment pipelines
  • Support network operating systems and monitoring (Nagios)
  • Collaborate closely with development and research teams on data problems
  • Contribute to operational excellence and scalable solutions
  • Address complex data problems across large databases (2 TB)

Key requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional Linux/Unix system administration experience
  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics
  • Strong Linux troubleshooting and tuning skills
  • Kernel tuning experience preferred
  • Programming in C, Python, or Perl
  • Experience with virtualization (KVM, VirtualBox)
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux administration
  • Familiarity with network operating systems
  • Experience with build/deploy technologies (Maven, CMake, Rake)
  • Proven ability to deliver production-ready solutions for complex problems
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced, data-driven trading environment
