Overview
In this role you will support the planning, design, and delivery of tunnelling and trenchless infrastructure projects, from concept to construction. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to advance alignment development, constructability assessments, and technical documentation, contributing to Parsons’ leadership in tunnelling. The position offers growth across design, risk evaluation, and client-facing activities in a global infrastructure practice. You’ll apply your underground engineering foundation to solve complex challenges and advance critical infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Support planning, design, and delivery of tunnelling/trenchless projects from concept through construction
- Participate in feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, procurement support, and construction-phase services
- Contribute to alignment development, constructability reviews, staging plans, risk evaluations, and cost estimates
- Review geotechnical data, design reports, and contractor submissions from a tunnelling perspective
- Coordinate with structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, civil, utility, transit, construction management, and estimating teams
- Assist in proposal development, technical writing, client presentations, and business development
- Engage in technical discussions with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Support construction through engineering reviews, site observations, RFIs, and assessment of contractor methods
- Contribute to Parsons’ growth and leadership in tunnelling
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Construction Engineering, or related discipline
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration in Canada
- Typically 5+ years of relevant tunnelling/underground infrastructure experience
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and construction practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgment
