Overview

In this role you will support a portfolio of commercial buildings in London with hands-on maintenance and engineering. You’ll diagnose faults, perform mechanical and basic electrical tasks, and supervise contractors as needed. You’ll work hands-on across diverse sites, contribute to safety and reliability, and grow within a forward-thinking, expanding organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as first responder for maintenance issues, diagnose faults and perform repairs where possible
  • Take pressure and temperature readings to classify faults as mechanical, electrical or controls-related
  • Perform maintenance tasks: replace tap cartridges, valves, actuators, and TRVs; small pipework alterations; fan and motor replacements
  • Escalate specialist issues and recommend contractors when required
  • Conduct regular site inspections and report major repairs needed
  • Supervise on-site contractor work to ensure quality and standards
  • Carry out general maintenance across buildings and support wider operational tasks
  • Undertake light carpentry such as building cabinets and minor repairs

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in maintenance, facilities management, or construction environments
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems and basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Professional and confident when dealing with clients and building occupiers
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive health and safety approach
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
