As a Graduate Risk Analyst, you’ll join our 2027 Early Careers programme and gain hands‑on experience while contributing to some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll join one of ourBalfour Beatty Power T&D teams as a Graduate Risk Analyst, based in Derby.
What you’ll be doing
As a Graduate Risk Analyst you’ll play an important role in identifying, assessing, and managing risks across major infrastructure and construction projects. Working alongside experienced risk managers, engineers, and project teams, you’ll apply your academic knowledge in a practical environment while developing the technical, analytical, and professional skills needed for a successful career in risk management.
You’ll gain experience identifying potential project risks, conducting risk assessments, analysing data, and developing mitigation strategies to minimise threats to project cost, programme, quality, and delivery. Through a structured graduate development programme, you’ll build expertise in risk management, quantitative analysis, risk modelling, forecasting, and project controls while working towards professional accreditation.
You’ll support with:
- Identifying, assessing, and monitoring project risks across major infrastructure and construction projects to help ensure successful delivery.
- Developing and maintaining project risk registers, ensuring risks are accurately recorded, regularly reviewed, and aligned with project objectives.
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative risk assessments to evaluate potential impacts on project cost, programme, quality, and delivery.
- Supporting the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, helping project teams minimise threats and manage uncertainty.
- Analysing risk data, identifying trends, and assessing potential impacts on project performance to support informed decision‑making.
Who we’re looking for
We value your potential over past experience and are looking for graduates with a degree in Finance, Business or relatedand a genuine interest in our industry. To be eligible, you’ll need to achieve a minimum 2:2 honours degree by the time you start.
