Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager at Turner & Townsend, you help deliver high-profile defence projects across the UK, contributing to national capability and complex programmes. You work with cross-functional teams to meet time, cost and quality targets and support contract administration and governance materials. Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of projects and programmes across various sizes and complexities
  • Assist teams to meet time, cost and quality objectives
  • Assist administration of NEC4 and other contracts under senior guidance
  • Contribute sector knowledge across defence, infrastructure and construction
  • Develop project documentation (business cases, plans, reports, governance materials)
  • Support project controls including programme management, risk, cost, and reporting
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and stakeholders
  • Apply project management tools and methodologies to achieve project outcomes
  • Support continuous improvement within projects and programmes

Key requirements

  • Experience with UK Government organisations, especially defence (advantageous)
  • Experience across project lifecycle from initiation to completion
  • Understanding of procurement processes and NEC contracts (beneficial)
  • Experience coordinating contractors, consultants and advisors on infrastructure/construction
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive and organized approach to identify issues and support problem solving
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills for multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Competence in project controls, reporting, risk management, scheduling and documentation
