Overview

In this role you will lead the financial planning and governance of sales incentive programs for the SPGE Energy business. You partner with Sales, Sales Ops, People, and Finance to model outcomes, support quota and territory decisions, and provide actionable insights on compensation costs and program performance. You will design financially disciplined incentive plans aligned to growth priorities and drive cross-functional collaboration. This position offers the chance to shape how seller behavior supports strategic goals and to scale compensation governance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial oversight and analysis of sales compensation programs to support commercial goals
  • Co-design and evaluate incentive plans that drive desired seller behavior and align with growth priorities
  • Develop and maintain commission models and payout frameworks for annual planning and in-year updates
  • Support quota setting and territory planning with financial analysis and scenario modelling
  • Forecast compensation expense, accruals, and payouts with variance analysis
  • Analyze plan effectiveness, pay-for-performance alignment, and incentive ROI
  • Ensure documentation, controls, and auditability of compensation plans and payout processes
  • Collaborate with Sales Ops, People Partners, and Finance to document and execute plans
  • Identify trends and risks in sales results and compensation metrics
  • Prepare senior leadership reports on compensation performance and financial impact
  • Lead or support annual compensation planning cycles and related design reviews
  • Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and governance of sales compensation
  • Support audits and policy reviews related to incentive compensation

Key requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in finance, FP&A, or incentive planning
  • Strong understanding of sales compensation principles and governance
  • Financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis experience
  • Ability to translate data into actionable leadership insights
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (commercial, HR, Finance, Sales Ops)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with compensation/planning/reporting systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence across functions
