Overview
In this role you will provide strategic leadership in lived experience involvement in health research, building a distinctive programme across education, research and stakeholder engagement. You will work with senior staff to advance participatory approaches, PPIE and co-production in mental health research. You will lead advisory boards, contribute to teaching and supervise students, and develop a cross‑university network focused on lived experience involvement. Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership of lived experience involvement and engagement best practice
- Develop a portfolio of empirical and methodological research on lived experience involvement and participatory qualitative methods
- Lead and support lived experience advisory boards and panels
- Lead and contribute to educational activities, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision
- Develop and organise a cross-university network focused on lived experience involvement in research
Key requirements
- PhD awarded in relevant subject area
- Experience with methodological and theoretical scholarship on lived experience involvement and participatory research
- Experience providing strategic leadership in lived experience involvement and engagement in research
- Experience in line management and supervising staff and students to develop PPIE/lived experience involvement plans for funded projects
- Track record of securing external research funding and plan for developing a funded portfolio related to lived experience involvement
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills with a record of peer-reviewed publications and collaborations
- Experience of leadership in education and teaching/supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Evidence of knowledge mobilisation, policy engagement or public/community engagement in lived experience/participatory/qualitative health research
