Overview

As a Banking & Finance Partner, you will lead high-value transactions while shaping the Midlands practice. You’ll leverage an established client base and build new relationships to grow the firm’s Banking & Finance offering and cross-sell into corporate and commercial work. You’ll mentor junior lawyers and collaborate across teams to drive growth and client opportunities. This is a leadership role with a platform to influence strategy, expand the Birmingham footprint, and contribute to the broader regional expansion. You will operate at Partner level, or be ready to step into Partnership, with a focus on execution and client development.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen and grow the Banking & Finance practice across the Midlands
  • Develop and manage client relationships and generate new business opportunities
  • Advise lenders, borrowers, investors on financing matters across a range of arrangements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to expand corporate and commercial capabilities
  • Mentor and develop more junior lawyers
  • Cross-sell and strengthen relationships with referrers and professional contacts

Key requirements

  • 6+ years PQE in Banking & Finance
  • Experience acting for lenders, borrowers, or both
  • Ability to manage sophisticated matters independently
  • Strong understanding of commercial drivers in financing transactions
  • Proven ability to generate work and build long-term client relationships
  • Credential and credibility for Partner level or readiness to move into Partnership
