Overview

In this role you support a global manufacturing business by partnering with operations, engineering and supply chain to improve project profitability and cost control. You will drive inventory best practices, strengthen financial controls and enable strategic decisions through financial analysis. The position offers exposure to senior leadership and opportunities to lead continuous improvement across costing and reporting in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly project cost reviews, inventory analysis and variance reporting
  • Monitor project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts and margin performance
  • Own standard costing processes, inventory valuation and COGS accuracy
  • Support month-end close activities, reporting and financial analysis
  • Investigate inventory variances and improve stock accuracy and control processes
  • Provide insight into material, labour and overhead variances to identify efficiency opportunities
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and ongoing business planning
  • Drive continuous improvement across reporting, controls and financial processes

Key requirements

  • Qualified/part-qualified Accountant (CIMA preferred) or QBE
  • Proven cost accounting experience with standard costing, inventory and financial analysis
  • Manufacturing, engineering, project-based or inventory-intensive sector background
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills
  • Analytical, commercially aware and focused on continuous improvement
  • Strong Excel skills and ERP experience (JD Edwards advantageous)
