Overview
In this role you will lead cost control for highway projects in Berkshire, reporting to managers and clients to support proposals and project delivery. You will supervise on-site staff and coordinate with a regional team to ensure timely, budget-compliant outcomes. The role blends commercial management with client-facing duties, offering scope to shape procurement and contract administration. A thoughtful, proactive mindset will help you drive value on challenging civil projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare valuations and applications for payment
- Prepare cost reports for the client
- Plan and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts
- Manage contract administration including change control and registers
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
- Progressed steadily from an engineering background
- Experience in highway sectors
- Chartered or working towards Chartership
- Experience managing a team of on-site staff (engineers, foremen, etc)
- Leadership and people management
- Effective communication with managers and clients
