Placement Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As a Quantity Surveying placement, you will split time between design and construction teams to gain real-world commercial exposure. You’ll support cost management, subcontractor payments, and final accounts on live projects within the Yorkshire Water framework. You’ll develop contract management skills and contribute to cost efficiency across projects. This opportunity combines hands-on learning with mentorship in a purpose-driven, community-focused business.

Responsibilities

• manage all aspects of project commercial and cost management, including subcontractor payments, notices, and cost-to-completes
• keep and maintain records (final accounts) for audits and cost assurance
• develop contract management knowledge, especially NEC and change control
• promote quality, cost, and efficiency to maximise value

Key requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
• keen eye for detail and accuracy
• effective communication with team members and stakeholders
• proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• valid UK driving licence
