Senior Project Engineer – Contract – London

Overview

In this client-side role, you will oversee package delivery by the FEED contractor and take ownership of the DCO scope on major energy infrastructure projects. You’ll ensure environmental and technical compliance, review gaps in contractor work, and provide project management and on-site advice. You will drive budget, schedule, and stakeholder engagement while maintaining HSE and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of work packages by the FEED contractor
• Support the Development Consent Order (DCO) scope and coordinate with the Consent team
• Ensure environmental compliance in the application process
• Perform technical reviews of gaps in FEED contractor scope
• Provide on-site technical advice and project management services
• Check quality of subcontractor design against client specifications
• Prepare budget costs and cash flow projections
• Plan, schedule and track progress of engineering projects
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders on projects
• Ensure HSE issues are managed per client policies
• Produce progress reports and lead progress meetings
• Review project deliverables including drawings, schedules, datasheets, specifications
• Deliver engineering design and assessment aligned with client expectations
• Support others within the team

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
• DCO experience on major, complex energy infrastructure projects (including environmental assessment)
• Experience on design projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy
• Experience in other major energy sectors (advantageous)
• Previous site experience with a design background (beneficial)
• Chartered status desired but not essential
