As a Senior Depositary Manager at Citco Custody UK, you will lead the depositary function to meet the highest standards of compliance and control. You will oversee depositary tasks, drive operational excellence, and mentor the management team to deliver exceptional client service. You will work cross-functionally to enable growth, manage risk, and ensure regulatory obligations are met. Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an effective control environment for depositary obligations
- Ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, and global standards
- Oversee depositary tasks across clients and teams, promoting cross-training and collaboration
- Manage operational teams handling NAV reviews, cash flow monitoring, safekeeping, and investment compliance
- Collaborate with Group Sales/Marketing to support new business aims
- Coordinate with other departments to record, resolve errors/breaches and escalate issues
- Resolve client queries and nurture client relationships
- Communicate regulatory changes to senior management and train staff accordingly
- Support development and progression of senior staff and foster a positive work environment
- Provide KPI & KRI reporting to senior management and contribute to quarterly Risk & Compliance committee materials
- Assist with SOC testing materials, on-site reviews, and annual audits
- Lead projects to evolve the business and assess automation within Depositary
- Monitor outsourcing providers against SLAs/KPIs and manage third-party risk
- Support CASS Oversight Officer to ensure client asset safeguarding per FCA rules
- Coordinate with Group Compliance on monitoring plans and regulatory queries
- Participate in on-site inspections of AIFM and sub-custodian due diligence
- Proactively manage risk and promote a strong risk-aware culture
Key requirements
- Third level business/finance qualification
- 20+ years in the fund industry with 7–10 years in senior management
- Experience in Hedge Fund / Private Equity / Real Estate Alternative Fund sectors
- Expert knowledge of complex fund/asset structures for Private Equity and Real Estate Funds
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements for Depositary under UK AIFMD/FCA FUNDS/CASS
- Strong team management and a proven track record delivering client service
- Excellent written and spoken English; strong interpersonal skills
- Experience managing projects to successful implementation
