Plater / Plater Welder – Structural Steel Location: Winsford (CW7) Pay: 17.73 PAYE / 23.09 per hour CIS or Umbrella Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:45pm | Friday: 7:45am – 12:45pm Day Shift | Immediate Starts Available
We are currently recruiting experienced Platers / Plater Welders to join a busy structural steel fabrication shop in Winsford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served Plater with experience working within medium to heavy structural engineering, offering competitive rates and an early finish every Friday.
Duties include:
- Plating and fabrication of medium to heavy structural steel
- Working from structural engineering drawings
- MIG welding mild steel and thick plate
- Working with plate thicknesses up to 20mm
- Measuring, marking out and preparing materials for fabrication
- Producing work accurately to required tolerances
- Maintaining high standards of quality and safety within the fabrication shop
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be time-served
- Previous medium to heavy structural engineering experience
- Strong plating and fabrication experience
- Ability to read and work from structural drawings
- Confident MIG welding thick mild steel plate
- Able to complete a trade test prior to starting.
Trade Test:
Candidates will be required to complete a straightforward trade test consisting of:
- 8mm and 10mm fillet weld
