School Receptionist – Bexhill

Bexhill | Full Time | Immediate Start | Up to 6 Months | Potential Permanent Opportunity

Teach South Kent are currently recruiting for an experienced Receptionist to join a busy and welcoming secondary school in Bexhill. This is a great opportunity for an experienced receptionist or customer service professional who enjoys working with people and is confident in a busy environment. The successful candidate will be the friendly and professional first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors to the school.

The initial placement is expected to last up to 6 months, with the possibility of the position becoming permanent for the right person.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming visitors, parents and students to the school
  • Managing a busy reception desk
  • Answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries
  • Passing messages and information to the appropriate members of staff
  • Supporting the school’s safeguarding and visitor procedures
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks
  • Maintaining accurate records and information
  • Working alongside the wider school support team
  • Providing a professional, friendly and welcoming service
  • Supporting other school functions when required

There may also be opportunities to assist with school communications, events and website updates.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who has previous reception experience and is comfortable working in a busy and demanding environment.

  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office

  • Adaptable and willing to support different areas of the school when required

Previous experience working within a school would be an advantage, but reception and customer service experience is the key requirement.

Hours

The role is 37 hours per week and operates on a two‑week rota:

Week 1: 7:30am – 4:00pm

Week 2: 8:30am – 5:00pm

You must be available to work both shift patterns.

There is no requirement to work during school holidays.

Start Date

The school is keen to appoint as soon as possible, ideally before the October half term, allowing the successful candidate to receive a thorough handover and training from the current receptionist.
