Senior Actuarial Manager – Valuation & Retirement Solutions

Overview

In this senior role you will lead the valuation function for a growing retirement portfolio, delivering accurate quarterly and ad hoc results while consolidating actuarial reporting. You’ll manage teams across valuation, reporting and transformation, partnering with Finance, Pricing and Operations to shape risk, capital, and reporting frameworks. You’ll also play a key part in assessing new retirement transactions, ensuring robust processes and controls as deals move into force. The role combines technical breadth (IFRS 17, US GAAP, Bermuda reporting) with broader leadership and transformation responsibilities, shaping a growing retirement business.

Responsibilities

• Lead valuation and consolidated actuarial reporting for retirement portfolio
• Deliver accurate quarterly and ad hoc results
• Manage actuarial teams and drive transformation initiatives
• Act as valuation stakeholder on new business transactions and deal structures
• Assess modelling, reporting implications and ensure processes, controls, and frameworks
• Support asset modelling and exposure across balance sheet
• Collaborate with Finance, Pricing, Operations and other actuarial teams

Key requirements

• Qualified actuary with 5+ years post-qualification experience in life insurance or reinsurance
• Strong valuation and financial reporting background
• Experience across annuities, BPA/pension risk transfer or broader retirement business
• Understanding of assets, liabilities and capital interaction
• Exposure to IFRS 17 and/or US GAAP and regulatory capital frameworks
• Experience supporting new business transactions and integrating them into valuation and reporting
• Strong people-management experience and track record of developing actuarial teams
• Experience improving processes, controls, models or actuarial systems
