Management Accountant
A well-established indigenous business is keen to appoint a Management Accountant to join its finance team in Banbridge, County Down. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a permanent opportunity paying circa £50,000, suited to an Accountant with industry-based experience who wants broader commercial exposure and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in a business with ambitious growth plans.

The finance team plays an important role in supporting the wider operation, with this position offering regular interaction with operational and departmental managers rather than sitting solely within the finance function.
About Your New Job
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a broad accounting position with a strong management accounting and commercial focus.
You will:
- Own the monthly management accounts process, including balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis and supporting commentary.
- Analyse project and departmental performance, providing insight into costs, margins and profitability and highlighting areas requiring attention.
- Partner with operational managers, helping them understand financial performance and make informed commercial decisions.
- Support budgeting and forecasting, developing Excel-based reporting and helping the business monitor performance against plan.
- Manage a broad range of financial control activity, including banking, cash-flow forecasting, invoicing, collections, tax administration, audit preparation and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting, while also supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance team.
This would suit an accountant who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers and wants to work closely with the wider business rather than focusing solely on traditional financial reporting.
What You Need
Essential:
- Fully qualified accountant ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent. Part-qualified / QBE individuals with significant industry experience MAY be considered.
- At least 2 years’ recent post-qualification experience within a construction, engineering, MEP or project-based contracting setting.
- Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to develop and maintain reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
