An Exciting New Opportunity at Argento

Are you passionate about social media, content creation and building brands that customers love?

Do you combine creative thinking with the commercial awareness to turn great content into measurable results?

Argento Contemporary Jewellery is excited to introduce a brand-new Social Media Marketing Manager position within the business.

As a newly created role, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, creative and commercially minded social media professional to make the role their own, helping to shape and develop Argento’s social media presence and bring fresh ideas, creativity and specialist expertise to the business.

Founded in Belfast in 1997, Argento has grown into one of the UK and Ireland’s leading fashion jewellers, with more than 25 stores and a thriving online business. Our collections include globally recognised jewellery and watch brands alongside our own home-grown brands.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established retail business while stepping into a new position where you can have a genuine influence on how our social media presence develops.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of developing and delivering Argento’s organic and paid social media strategy, creating engaging content that strengthens our brands, connects with our customers and supports wider commercial objectives.

This is a creative, commercial and hands-on role. You’ll develop social strategy, create and edit content, manage campaigns and paid social activity, identify emerging trends and use performance insights to continually develop our approach.

Collaboration will be central to the role. You’ll work closely with the E-commerce Manager, Marketing Manager and Creative Director, while liaising with the CEO and wider business to ensure social activity supports marketing campaigns, e-commerce priorities, creative direction, product launches and key retail trading periods.

As this is a newly created position, you’ll also have the opportunity to help shape how the social media function develops, identifying new ideas, approaches and opportunities to strengthen Argento’s digital presence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Social Strategy & Campaigns

  • Develop and deliver Argento’s organic and paid social media strategy across key platforms.
  • Plan engaging campaigns supporting brand growth, product launches, new collections, promotions and key retail trading periods.
  • Manage a structured social content calendar while remaining responsive to emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Act as the Company’s social media specialist, identifying new platforms, formats and opportunities for growth.

Content & Brand Storytelling

  • Create, coordinate and edit high-quality content including photography, graphics, reels, short-form video, stories and copy.
  • Develop engaging platform-specific content for channels including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Bring our products, stores, people and brands to life through engaging social-first storytelling.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director to ensure content reflects the Company’s creative direction, visual identity and tone of voice.

Paid Social & Performance

  • Plan, manage and optimise paid social campaigns and agreed budgets.
  • Monitor performance against agreed KPIs including reach, engagement, audience growth, website traffic, conversion and return on advertising spend.
  • Use campaign results, data and customer insights to continually improve performance.
  • Provide regular updates, insights and recommendations to the Managing Director and relevant stakeholders.

Community, Trends & Engagement

  • Oversee social communities, ensuring comments, messages and brand mentions are managed appropriately and in line with our customer service standards.
  • Build positive customer engagement and identify useful customer feedback and emerging themes.
  • Stay ahead of social trends, platform developments, competitor activity and developments across retail, fashion and jewellery.
  • Identify relevant influencer, creator and user-generated content opportunities.

Collaboration & Commercial Focus

  • Work closely with the E-commerce Manager to support online trading priorities, customer acquisition, website traffic and conversion.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to align social activity with wider campaigns, promotions and marketing activity.
  • Partner with the Creative Director on creative concepts, content and brand presentation.
  • Liaise with the CEO on relevant brand and strategic initiatives, providing social media insights where appropriate.
  • Build effective relationships across Retail Operations, Buying and the wider business to identify products, stories and commercial opportunities for social media.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who genuinely understands social media and knows how to create content that gets people watching, talking, clicking and engaging.

You’ll combine creativity with commercial awareness and have the confidence to take ownership of social media activity from initial idea through to delivery and performance analysis.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a social media, digital marketing or content marketing role, managing business social channels.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and delivering organic and paid social campaigns.
  • Strong content creation skills, particularly photography, short-form video, reels and copywriting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and how content should be adapted for different audiences.
  • Experience of paid social advertising, including platforms such as Meta Ads Manager.
  • Good understanding of social media analytics, KPIs and performance reporting.
  • Ability to turn data, customer insight and campaign performance into practical improvements.
  • Strong creative judgement with an eye for brand consistency and visual presentation.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how social media can support retail, marketing and e-commerce objectives.
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience within retail, fashion, jewellery, beauty, lifestyle or e-commerce.
  • Experience managing paid social budgets and measuring return on advertising spend.
  • Experience using content creation, design and video-editing software.
  • Experience working with influencers, creators or brand ambassadors.
  • Understanding of e-commerce customer journeys, digital acquisition and conversion.

Working at Argento

The position will initially be offered on a 3-day-per-week basis, working 8.00am to 4.30pm from our East Belfast Head Office, with the potential for the role to increase to 4 days per week as it develops.

As this role involves close collaboration with our Marketing, E-commerce, Creative and senior leadership teams, alongside hands-on content creation and coordination, this is an office-based position and does not currently offer a working-from-home arrangement.

Argento’s current employee offering includes benefits such as generous staff discount, family-friendly policies, company pension, incentives, training and career progression opportunities.

Most importantly, this newly created role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a genuine impact, helping shape the future of Argento’s social media presence while working alongside key decision-makers across the business.

If you’re an experienced, creative and commercially minded social media professional who knows how to make brands stand out, we’d love to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of Argento’s social media presence, bring your ideas and expertise to a newly created role and create content and campaigns that connect our brands with customers.
