Overview
As Global Markets Technology Architecture Executive, you lead the end-to-end architecture strategy for GMT, aligning with enterprise standards and driving cloud adoption. You shape cross-LOB design and front-to-back solutions for transformation programs, balancing technical excellence with business impact. You’ll mentor senior architects and foster a standardised tech stack across Equities, FICC, Risk, Finance and Operations. This role offers strategic influence and the chance to accelerate cloud-driven modernization at scale.

Responsibilities
- Own and align GMT target-state architecture with enterprise standards and governance
- Represent GMT in enterprise architecture forums and influence bank-wide principles and cloud strategy
- Advocate standardised technology stacks and rationalise duplicative platforms
- Lead GMT participation in blueprint, program designs, and capability investments
- Influence architecture for strategic transformations (e.g., Subledger, cloud adoption, data platform modernization, regulatory programs)
- Ensure end-to-end architectural decisions reflect full front-to-back business impact
- Drive legacy infrastructure rationalisation and platform standardisation
- Contribute to shaping cloud migration strategy and develop a Community of Practice with senior architects
Key requirements
- Senior MD with extensive experience in a financial services organisation, preferably Tier 1 investment bank or global markets
- Deep knowledge of capital markets workflows and front‑to‑back breadth
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (FRTB, Basel IV, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, EMIR)
- Ability to model and analyse end-to-end processes and propose pragmatic solutions
- Experience in enterprise architecture governance and cross-LOB standards
- Track record of defining and executing large-scale cross-asset architecture programs globally
- Combination of functional and technical depth across system design, business processes, and data architecture
- Experience operating in a matrixed, global, shared-services model
