Overview

In this role you will lead a diverse private client tax portfolio for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, trusts and estates within a SME-focused practice. You will deliver compliant work and bespoke advisory solutions, coach junior staff, and collaborate with senior leadership on complex planning matters. The position blends hands-on tax compliance with strategic advisory, in a supportive, people-centered culture. Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients and address advisory needs
  • Act as main client contact and build long-term relationships
  • Review and oversee self-assessment tax returns, IHT, CGT, and trust returns
  • Deliver bespoke tax planning solutions including inheritance tax and estate planning
  • Lead or support advisory projects alongside partners
  • Supervise, support, and develop junior team members
  • Stay updated on legislation and communicate changes internally and to clients

Key requirements

  • CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in private client tax within an accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax legislation
  • Ability to manage and advise high-net-worth individuals and complex personal tax affairs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience mentoring junior staff
