SEND Teaching Assistant
Full-Time or Part-Time Long-Term or Permanent Opportunity Immediate Start Available
Thisis a specialist provision supporting pupils aged 2–19 years with a range of additional learning needs. The setting provides a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small-group basis
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities
- Help pupils access the curriculum and achieve individual learning goals
- Support communication, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents where required
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD, MLD, or PMLD
- Experience working within a special school or SEND environment is desirable
- Team Teach training is highly advantageous
- Patient, resilient, and caring approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
- Commitment to supporting children and young people with additional needs
