Overview
In this Employment Lawyer role, you will join an in-house legal team to advise on a broad range of employment issues. You will handle both contentious and non-contentious work, including Employment Tribunal matters and policy/draft preparation. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and manage external advisers, applying a pragmatic, risk-based approach. Responsibilities
- Handle Employment Tribunal claims from start to finish
- Advise on disciplinary, grievance, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE and trade union matters
- Draft and review contracts, policies, procedures, and settlement agreements
- Deliver employment law training and build relationships with internal stakeholders
- Manage external legal advisers and provide pragmatic, risk-based advice
Key requirements
- At least 4 years’ PQE in employment law
- Strong Employment Tribunal experience
- Excellent drafting and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to communicate practical legal advice to non-legal audiences
- Commercial, solutions-focused approach
- In-house or advising large/complex/unionised organisations would be advantageous but not essential
