Salary: £40,000 – 80,000 per year
Requirements:
- Significant experience developing commercial software products.
- Strong C#, C++ and/or C development skills.
- Experience leading complex technical work and influencing technical direction.
- Experience working on Windows-based applications and real-time control systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- A degree in Computing, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Advantageous experience in industrial automation or semiconductor equipment.
- Advantageous experience in hardware interfacing and control systems.
- Advantageous experience in cybersecurity and secure software development.
- Advantageous experience with AI/ML technologies or modern DevOps practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of software for our products and systems.
- Own complex software projects and technical challenges from concept through delivery.
- Develop high-quality software using technologies including C#, C++ and C.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Service, Product Management and Operations.
- Support customers and field service engineers in diagnosing and resolving challenging technical issues.
- Mentor software engineers and help establish team best practices.
- Review software designs and implementations to ensure quality, maintainability and security.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the long-term evolution of our software platforms.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring our software systems are robust, maintainable, secure and aligned with business objectives.
- Act as a key technical authority for customers and internal stakeholders while remaining actively involved in hands‑on software development.
