Civil Design Engineer
to join a leading, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in
Hertfordshire .
The consultancy has a strong reputation for technical excellence and a collaborative approach, with an established project pipeline across sectors including
residential, commercial, distribution and technology, including data centres .
This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer looking to develop their technical experience within a supportive consultancy environment, working on a varied range of development infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
As a Civil Design Engineer, you’ll be involved in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design and construction.
Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and take increasing responsibility for your own projects.
Key responsibilities include:Designing highways, drainage and infrastructure for residential, commercial and other development projectsProducing detailed engineering drawings, calculations and technical reportsAssisting with Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy ReportsWorking on
S278, S38, S104 and S106
infrastructureUndertaking site levels, earthworks and drainage designProducing designs using
AutoCAD and Civil 3DUsing
MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or similar
drainage softwareWorking closely with senior engineers, clients, architects and other multidisciplinary teamsSupporting projects through planning, detailed design and constructionDeveloping your technical knowledge and working towards professional qualifications
About You
We’re looking for a Civil Engineer with some consultancy experience who is keen to develop their career within a technically strong and supportive environment.
Requirements:Degree in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineIdeally
2-5 years’ experience
in civil infrastructure design within a consultancy environmentExperience working on development infrastructure projectsGood understanding of highways and drainage designFamiliarity with
S278, S38, S104 and S106 agreementsExperience using
AutoCAD and/or Civil 3DExperience with
MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or similar
would be advantageousGood understanding of UK civil engineering design standardsStrong communication, organisation and problem-solving skillsWorking towards
IEng or ICE Chartership
would be advantageous
