Overview

In this role you will guide actuarial insights, reporting, and pricing projects within the COG Pricing team to turn data into business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and report to the Head of Pricing for Property and Casualty, mentoring junior actuaries. You’ll oversee analytics, data quality, and pricing tool modernisation to raise efficiency and insight. The role offers impact through senior stakeholder collaboration, data-driven recommendations, and leadership in pricing transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of clear, insightful actuarial reporting for senior stakeholders
  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for decision-making
  • Improve reporting processes, controls, and data quality
  • Drive actuarial data initiatives across pricing, modelling, reporting, and analytics
  • Support adoption of new technologies and data platforms to enhance efficiency and insight
  • Lead pricing modernisation projects and promote best practices across the team
  • Partner with analytics, planning, reserving, CAT modelling, and underwriting teams
  • Manage and develop the COG MI Manager and Actuarial Analyst
  • Support development of junior actuaries and knowledge sharing across the team

Key requirements

  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries or equivalent
  • Knowledge of property, casualty, cyber, financial lines, and marine insurance products
  • At least 5 years’ pricing experience in P&C insurance
  • Strong leadership and people management experience
  • Experience delivering complex projects and working with senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using large datasets
  • Experience with SQL or Python is desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in a global or multi-regional environment is desirable
