Senior Project Manager – Water

Overview

In this role you will lead complex flood risk projects, driving delivery from inception through handover while mentoring junior staff. You will work with cross-functional client teams across the Midlands to achieve high-profile outcomes and strengthen trusted advisor relationships. You’ll shape soluciones for multi-disciplinary challenges using NEC contract frameworks and robust project controls. This is an opportunity to influence real-world flood risk and environmental projects at scale with a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver flood risk projects and programmes across lifecycles for 2m–15m budgets
• Manage contracts, client objectives, and project controls including cost and scheduling
• Provide leadership to project teams and mentor junior staff
• Oversee health, safety, quality and environmental management
• Plan and communicate across multiple work streams and senior client stakeholders
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients and partners
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams on large projects and programmes
• Foster a creative, growth-oriented mindset within the team

Key requirements

• Significant project/programme delivery experience in flood risk or environmental sectors
• Experience with NEC contract management suite, PSC and ECC forms, as Service Manager or Project Manager
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build trusted advisory relationships
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and numerical skills for complex issues
• Ability to work under pressure, drive solutions, and influence outcomes
• Solid planning, communication, and organisational skills across multiple streams
• Experience in multi-disciplinary team environments and client/contractor sides
