Job Description:

Global Head of Enterprise Architecture M&A Transformation

We’re partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed global business to appoint a Global Head of Enterprise Architecture, reporting directly to the CIO.

This is a high-profile leadership role with responsibility for shaping the organisation’s global technology architecture and long-term strategy.

We’re looking for an established Enterprise Architecture leader who has operated in a complex global environment and has experience of M&A, acquisitions, carve-outs or major business transformation.

A key part of the role will be helping shape the architecture and integration playbook for future acquisitions.

The Role

  • Own and develop the global Enterprise Architecture strategy, target architecture and roadmap.
  • Lead and develop a team of six Senior Architects.
  • Provide architecture leadership across Applications, Data, Infrastructure, Cloud and Security.
  • Shape the architecture approach for acquisitions and business integration, from due diligence and current-state assessment through to target architecture, integration, rationalisation and transition.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, policies and governance.
  • Align technology strategy with business growth, transformation and investment priorities.
  • Lead architecture across major global transformation and technology modernisation programmes.
  • Drive simplification and rationalisation across a complex international technology landscape.
  • Work closely with the CIO, C-suite and senior business leaders, providing clear strategic direction and advice.
  • Strengthen the Enterprise Architecture function, including its operating model, governance, tools and ways of working.
  • Present architecture strategy, investment priorities and recommendations to executive and board-level stakeholders.

Experience Needed

  • Senior-level experience as a Head of Enterprise Architecture, Director of Enterprise Architecture, Global Enterprise Architect or Chief Architect.
  • Strong experience within a PE-backed, M&A, acquisition, carve-out or major transformation environment.
  • Experience shaping the architecture approach to business acquisitions and integration.
  • Broad Enterprise Architecture expertise across Applications, Data, Infrastructure, Cloud and Security.
  • Proven experience developing enterprise-wide technology strategies, target architectures and multi-year roadmaps.
  • Strong Architecture Governance and Design Authority experience.
  • Experience leading and developing senior architects and architecture teams.
  • Proven ability to operate across complex global or multi-business environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect architecture decisions with business value, investment and risk.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with credibility at C-suite and board level.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of Enterprise Architecture within a complex, growing global organisation, shape how future acquisitions are integrated and have a major influence on the organisation’s future technology landscape.
