Overview
As Audit Manager, you will oversee a varied audit portfolio from planning to completion, lead audit teams, and maintain strong client relationships. You will handle statutory audits, independent examinations, and specialist assignments, reviewing work and coaching junior staff. The role offers visibility within the firm, with opportunities to shape the audit department, develop the team, and progress to senior leadership. Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion
- Lead audit teams and review the work of junior and senior staff
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and ensure high-quality service
- Oversee statutory audits, independent examinations, and specialist assignments
- Review statutory accounts prepared under FRS102 and Charity SORP
- Support Partners in client relationship management and value creation
- Coach, mentor and provide technical guidance to the wider team
- Contribute to growth and development of the audit department
Key requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- proven track record delivering audits in an accountancy practice
- experience managing multiple client engagements
- strong technical knowledge across audit and accounts preparation
- excellent organisational and communication skills
- previous experience supervising and developing junior team members
- ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and competing priorities
