Overview
In this role you will provide commercially grounded planning guidance across multiple sectors within a growing Bristol team of a multidisciplinary property consultancy. You will manage planning applications, appeals and pre-application work, build strong client relationships, and contribute to business development. The position offers collaborative delivery, cross-disciplinary teamwork and opportunities to influence planning strategy and client outcomes. You will work on diverse projects, engaging with authorities and stakeholders to deliver high-quality planning advice and reports.

Responsibilities
- Provide commercially astute planning advice across multiple sectors
- Manage and progress planning applications, appeals and pre-application submissions
- Prepare initial planning appraisals and strategic advice
- Liaise with clients, Local Planning Authorities, consultees and stakeholders
- Conduct site visits and attend client/project meetings
- Attend planning committees and public consultations as needed
- Prepare high-quality planning reports with clear recommendations
- Manage projects within deadlines and budgets
- Maintain QA standards and high delivery quality
- Build client relationships and support repeat business and BD
- Support business development through networking and identifying opportunities
Key requirements
- Chartered RTPI membership or working towards chartership
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, legislation and procedures
- Experience in a planning consultancy or similar environment
- Experience with planning applications, appeals and/or pre-application advice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop clear planning arguments and communicate them confidently
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
