Overview
In this role you will lead strategic procurement and contracting across a significant portfolio, maximising value while managing commercial risk. You will liaise with project teams, suppliers and delivery partners to shape procurement strategies and oversee end-to-end contract lifecycle activities. The role focuses on complex agreements in capital projects, including renewables or similar infrastructure, to support successful project outcomes. You will work within a collaborative Procurement & Commercial team that values governance, performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement and contracting strategies aligned with project goals
- Lead end-to-end Contract Lifecycle Management from sourcing to close-out
- Prepare ITTs, tender docs, award recommendations and evaluation criteria
- Source and evaluate complex goods/services and manage supplier proposals
- Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance and drive accountability
- Assist with contract negotiations and administration, ensuring obligations are met
- Identify and mitigate procurement and commercial risks per governance policies
- Draft and manage framework and call-off agreements
- Support prequalification, due diligence and supplier evaluations
- Monitor contract compliance, variations, claims and dispute resolution
- Provide commercial support to project teams and seek value/cost optimization
- Support procurement across existing frameworks and ensure timely delivery
- Conduct data analysis, forecasting, reporting and record management
- Prepare procurement plans, schedules and contract management documentation
- Report commercial risks and performance updates to stakeholders
Key requirements
- Experience in procurement, commercial or contract management, ideally in renewables, utilities, infrastructure, engineering or construction
- Knowledge of onshore/offshore renewable energy projects and contracting models
- Experience managing contracts through full lifecycle including tendering and claims
- Strong understanding of supplier sourcing, tenders, governance and negotiation
- Familiarity with contract forms such as NEC, FIDIC, LOGIC or equivalents
- Experience preparing procurement strategies, tender docs and award recommendations
- Understanding of contract compliance, supplier performance management, variations and disputes
- Experience contributing to budgets, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Understanding of HSE, governance and procurement best practices in major capital projects
- Knowledge of energy sector market developments and supplier capabilities
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Law or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- MCIPS membership or progress towards professional qualification advantageous but not essential
