Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Overview

As Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead the NPI Development team to ensure high-quality, cost-effective new parts. You’ll collaborate with design staff to translate concepts into manufacturable products and oversee prototype builds and critical analyses (PFMEA/ DFMEA). You’ll optimise assembly layouts and tooling with Operations to support scalable production. This role sits at a market-leading electronics engineering centre with a start-up mindset, offering impact across product introduction and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the NPI Development team to deliver quality, manufacturable new parts
• Liaise with design staff to align concepts with manufacturing feasibility and cost targets
• Oversee prototype builds and prepare supporting documentation
• Actively participate in PFMEA and DFMEA processes
• Collaborate with Operations to optimise assembly layouts and tooling for NPI builds
• Utilise ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) to support NPI/NPD processes
• Bring awareness of electronic PCB assembly techniques to improve manufacturability

Key requirements

• Experience with PCBA and leading a manufacturing or production team
• NPI/NPD experience in electronics assembly (PCB/cable assembly or electronics box build)
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SAP preferred
• Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Awareness of electronic PCB assembly techniques beneficial
